The adaptation of existing vascular stents for different non-vascular conditions created a gap in the market for site- and disease-specific stents that are designed precisely to the anatomy and physiology of the organ to be treated.

Allium’s prostatic stent implant have a large caliber triangular cross-section to match the contours of the prostatic urethral lumen and have the ability to exert varying degrees of radial force depending on the anatomy. For example, higher radial force in its main body and lower radial force in the area near the external sphincter to prevent sphincteric dysfunction and urinary retention or incontinence. These characteristics enable the Allium Prostatic Stent Implant to conform to the prostatic urethra, allow an excellent flow and offer a much-improved comfort than existing stents, all these without jeopardizing the voluntary continence mechanism.
Furthermore, this procedure is fully reversible, which allows extraction of the stent at any stage if needed, without altering the anatomy as other invasive procedures do.
One of the additional advantages the TPS is providing, is the fact that this procedure can be performed in a matter of 15 minutes using either local, regional or light sedation types of anesthesia.
Further more the procedure can be performed either in the physician’s office, outpatient, or an operating room set up, in order to allow a wider option of choices for the patient and the doctor.
