Allium covered Biliary Stents

A fully covered flexible stent with a high-radial force and large caliber body, clinically designed to fit the anatomy of the CBD

The Allium self-expandable, large caliber, fully covered and easily removable biliary stents were designed to be used in chronic Common Bile Duct (CBD) obstructions in order to allow excellent intra-luminal flow during its long indwelling period (of up to 3 years). The Stents are made of a super-elastic metallic alloy (nitinol), which is fully covered by a unique and proprietary polymeric material in order to prevent tissue in growth and reduce occlusion by bile sludge.

The Stents come in either 8mm or 10mm diameter, which allows excellent intra-luminal flow compared to other plastic stent options. The specially designed proprietary soft end elements of the stents minimize reactive tissue proliferation for a better and longer indwelling period. The unique stent design has a low radial force sphincteric segment to prevent or minimize the reflux which is the main cause of cholangitis seen with other conventional stents. The stents unique design (with or without the anchor) prevent a proximal migration, which is a known complication when applying stents.  The deployment procedure can be performed using either the standard ERCP procedure or percutaneously (depending on the deployment system), and the Stents are designed to be removed easily and safely.

The Allium stent benefits:

  • Indicated for malignant strictures in the Common Bile Duct
  • Large caliber for intra-luminal flow
  • No shortening of the stent during deployment
  • Long indwelling time of up to 3 years
  • Endoscopic or Trans-Hepatic insertion
  • Easy insertion and stent positioning
  • Available with or without an anchor
  • No tissue in-growth
  • Anti-reflux design
  • Easy removal of the device
